My Father's Voice

My father had a strong voice when he would talk to me.

As a small boy I remember, each time I heard his Creed.

Do this and do that you good for nothing kid

Walk straight stand tall you won’t amount to much at all

Sit up, not now, I will show you later --- somehow.

I never wanted to listen, but I couldn't run away

I stood there as this man of steel would surely get his way

I tried all my life not to listen, to those words that he would say

But every time he’d come around, I’d want to run away

He didn't really mean it, but I heard it all the time

he’d attack me with his cutting words, this man of steel of mine

For now I am much older, but my memories still stay

For this man of steel told this little boy, one too many days

Lost Love

I heard those things you told me, and they pushed me away

I guess somehow you showed me, but now that's yesterday 

And all those dreams we had, never to come true

And all the times I said those words I Love You

And now it’s over so sad this has to end

I can’t be what you want, and you don't want me then

Yes it's over you wrote it in your words.

I hope in life you find what's yours,

And get what you deserve.

Two

It takes two to make love    

Two to have a baby       

Two to make a team

Two to make their dreams

It takes two to make things right

  But the true reality is

It takes two to have a fight

Lesson For The Heart

Once I had true love, but I thought I could do better

It was the fantasy that I had perceived 

But my true love knew better.  

So with tears in our eyes, I just walked away

To teach myself that a fantasy is only a fantasy to stay.

And now I'm alone, for my true love was right

One shouldn't give up a jewel of value

For a polished rock that could never be as bright

This one  

  For this one is truly special

she brightens up a room like the sun.

and feel her warmth when she smiles.

Yes she is a special one

Lies

     This is the first time that I feel in my life,
for I have been numb for a very long time...
She has opened my eyes with her deceptions.
She has crushed my heart with her lies  

And now I sit in loneliness not wanting to love again.
Not able to trust another for this one has crippled me.
She told me she loved me I heard it so many times.
To think that those words from her lips were only her lies.  

She made me a promise she would always be there
then she throws me out like an old broken chair
to once have thought I found love was so rare.
Now all I can hear is lies

She makes mistakes

    She makes mistakes and so do I.

The difference is that mine make me cry.

I was wrong in what I did

and you were wrong in what you said,

And the children sit there and wonder

why one grown up laughs as the other cries

Because either one doesnt want to say

Farewell  

    To lose someone you love is a painful, hurting feeling

and you can't make them love or make them care

so it's a time to remember the good times

and the smiles that we shared.

For the journey was short

and the pains hard

to bear.
