Once I captained a boat with an engine so strong.
It would push us though the waters as I steered us though the storms.
Time after time it would do it again,
as blue sky’s turned to gray another storms rolling in.
I relied on that engine to keep us afloat
I knew this in my heart, for I captained this boat.
It was early in June 2008, that my life should have such a irreversible fate
It came at me just like a thief in the night.
She was the worst storm I have seen in my life.
It was calm that morning, clear blue skies above
as I stood at my wheel, basking in the sun.
120 miles out with 60 to go
then the black clouds rolled in
as the winds started to blow.
She came in with a thunder with her power she roared
I could never out run this powerful storm.
Her waves tossed my boat from side to side
I used all my strength just to stay alive.
Men we can’t hold on she’s going to get us in the end
I’m pushing straight toward her as the waters pouring in
I pushed my throttles  full a head she would go
And in a moments time I  knew my engine was blown.
One  more smash  from her waves her winds blow us around
I looked at my men’s cold stone white faces I found
And I thought to myself for this is what will be
For today the first day I’ll be a captain at sea.

Special Women

I see honesty as I look into her eyes
I feel this one can be trusted for she tells no lies
This one has love in her actions and her ways

That special kind of women you can count on every day
And those that are close to her must see this to be true.
For I have met many people in my life
But few as special as you

Tonight

We said goodbye as many people do
And as I drove myself home
My thoughts were fixed on you.
To see a smile on your face
Brings joy straight to my heart.
To sit and talk as hour go bye
To listen to your words as
You listen to mine
A beginning of a journey
Where hopefully we'll find
Many special moments together

A Road Home

She is cautious like a cat
As she studies who I am
hope in time she finally finds
That we can be more than friends

Till than I walk this road,That may lead me to her door,
And maybe she will decide to
Give me the key to open
  Her heart once more.

For I have traveled very far down 
Down some lost and lonesome roads.
And in my search I have found this path
That may lead me to my home.

Promise

I have heard it said that absence
 Makes the heart grow fonder
And distance will keep two apart.
Yet hours go bye as my mind wonders,
with thoughts of you and I in my heart.
I hope that this is a beginning
a new dawn from yesterdays past.
Yes I hope this is a beginning
With the promise of two that will last.

Clear To Me


For you wonder what I'm thinking when I look into your eyes.
What it is that I am seeking is to me no Great surprise.
For when I look there times I see
The pools of your soul looking back at me.
Then I feel a small tingle, down deep inside
The same feeling happens when you kissed me goodbye.
For in my soul I know this feeling well
As I'm hoping good things for us
Only time can tell.

Time

Years through time they travel so fast
only two years gone bye as a decade runs past
So quickly we peruse our daily routine.
Another day gone bye to follow the dream.

Can you remember back when you where young
When you only had time to play in the sun
As each new day just seemed to linger on
Antisapating summer ,as winter rolls along

And how long in time is a 100 years
For the man who's 99
Its only one year.
